There are three public school districts in Lee's Summit: Blue Springs R-IV School District, Lee's Summit R-VII School District, and Raymore-Peculiar R-II School District. Meanwhile, there are also four religious private schools, including Lees Summit Academy formerly Libby Lane Academy, Our Lady of Presentation Catholic School, St. Michael the Archangel Catholic High School, and Summit Christian Academy. The city is home to Longview Community College, Summit Technology Center, and Baker University. According to the latest 2017 American Community Survey data, 44% of individuals aged 25 years old and up have earned a bachelor's degree or higher attainment. Popular specializations include Business (25%), Education (14%) as well as Science and Engineering related (12%).

The city of Lee’s Summit has set aside money to help some residents buy their first homes. The funds are part of a Community Development Block Grant through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development that are designated to help provide equal housing opportunities in the city. The Community Development Block Grant, through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, has approved the release of funding to help provide equal housing opportunities to families in Lee's Summit. There is an available $34,200 fund for the 2018-2019 cycle. This will be available on a first-come, first served basis. Requirements include being a resident of Lee's Summit for at least a year, carrying an approved mortgage through an approved lender, and will be purchasing a home within the city limits. To ensure eligibility, potential home buyers should have an income of no more than 80% of the median income for household size according to HUD requirements. Waterfall Park in Lee's Summit, MO

Waterfall Park is a green space that features a walking trail, fishing lake, playground and picnic shelter. It is a beautiful park situated around an 18-acre lake.
